Meredith Bragg and the Terminals

C'est lorsque j'ai appris que Meredith Bragg and the Terminals reprenaient le Two Blue Lights de Songs:Ohia sur leur dernier EP, Departures, que j'ai décidé de me pencher sur le cas de ce groupe. Et rien que pour ça Jason Molina grapille encore quelques points d'affection. Non pas que la reprise soit plus intense que l'originale mais simplement parceque par ailleurs Meredith Bragg est un songwriter doué avec lequel il faudra probablement compter à l'avenir.
Pour le situer et vous donner envie d'écouter les extraits mp3s disponibles sur son site, je dirais que sa musique évoque la facette la plus acoustique et douce de Death Cab for Cutie, avec des harmonies vocales subtiles comme on peut en entendre sur certaines chansons de Nada Surf et des arrangements délicats comme du Iron and Wine ou le dernier album d'Owen. Bref de la chamber pop américaine douce amère du meilleur cru.
